Teenager, Shane Chasing Horse is a member of the Dog Soldiers gang on the Pine Ridge Reservation. His grandfather, Old Pete Chasing Horse, is worried that his grandson maybe headed for a life of crime. As the two travel across South Dakota to the All Nations Storytelling Pow-Wow in Albuquerque, N.M., Old Pete tells stories from the Lakota, Kiowa, Blackfeet, Northern Cheyenne, Pawnee, Pacific Northwest Tribes and others to illustrate life lessons for his grandson.
